Wonderful Place To Stay While You Experience Thekkady

The guesthouse is run by a warm and welcoming family who go out of their way to ensure you are looked after and enabled to enjoy Thekkady without stress. The room was very clean (always important for us) and spacious with a fan to keep you cool at night. Activities around the area (elephant rides, tea factory tours, tiger treks) can be organised through El-Paradiso very easily, with required transport coming straight to you. It is also ideally located with just a short walk from most of the action.
The owner, Mr Paul was extremely helpful and was always happy to provide us with information about the area, activities and further travelling. On one occasion my partner was suffering from severe toothache in the middle of the night and the family were on hand with aid and even offered to drive us to the hospital! El Paradiso lives up to it's name - there's not much more we could ask for! Highly recommended!

We received a welcome tea on our arrival at around 2pm. The owner, Babu, sat with us and asked about our journey so far and plans for our stay Kumilly. He also gave us information of what was available. We let him know that we wanted to visit the national park, do a light trek and catch a Kathakali performance. Within an hour we had everything planned and even tickets for the dance show. Babu was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Being a homestay its a family business and everyone is very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and everything worked - lights, hot water, mosquito repelllent!... The room was simple, tidy and and clean and had everything we required, even a balcony with a swing chair. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was simple but abundant. Well situated near the heart of the town but away from all the traffic. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. I would go back again and I definitely recommend it to anyone going to Kumily.
Lovely homestay at El Paradiso, Kumilly / Thekkady

We were in Thekkady / Kumilly last week, very close to the Periyar Reserve. The family was charming and helpful. The rooms were great - spacious, clean, hot water showers - and the price was right. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there; sitting out on the balcony was so restful at the end of the day. The family accommodated our early start and prepared breakfast for us really early so we could get to the first morning boat ride in the Reserve. The street was really quiet, and away from the center busy road, but walkable everywhere. We loved our stay at El Paradiso, and recommend it.
We stayed this hotel in the end of May 2016 for one day. It was a nice experience for us. Excellent location, very cooperative staff, excellent food, very big and comfortable rooms. We recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay.
